The Imperial Hotel in Uchisaiwaicho district of Tokyo’s Chiyoda ward. It is located opposite the Hibiya Park.

The historic hotel first opened in November 1890 in Hibiya as a state guesthouse, designed by architect Yuzuru Watanabe (1890–1922). The building was destroyed by fire on 16 April 1922. The second Imperial Hotel designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) and opened in June 1923. The structure survived the Great Kanto earthquake on 1 September 1923. In 1968 the building was demolished in order to renovate it. The current, third building, opened in 1970.

As it was announced by the owners in 2021,  the Imperial Hotel Tokyo Tower is scheduled to be demolished and rebuilt over the period of 2024 to 2030. The main building is scheduled to remain in operation until 2030 and rebuilt the period 2031-2036.
